Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how IGEARS TECHNOLOGY LIMITED ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use Webetter (the "Service") at webetter.co. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
We handle personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong) (PDPO) and its six Data Protection Principles.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Content you provide — the business descriptions, prompts, edits, text, and images you submit to build and customize your sites.
- Billing information — records of credit purchases and your credit ledger. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store your full card number.
- Domain information — the domain name and DNS ownership-verification data you provide to connect a domain you already own.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, session cookies, log files, and usage events needed to operate and secure the Service.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including generating, editing, and hosting your websites.
- To process credit purchases and maintain your credit balance and transaction history.
- To verify and configure a custom domain you already own when you ask us to connect it.
- To authenticate you, secure your account, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- To respond to support requests and send service-related communications.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. AI processing
To generate and edit websites, the prompts and content you submit are processed by our AI model. We operate our own model for core website generation. We use your prompts to produce the requested output and to operate the Service; we do not sell your prompts or content.
4. Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect requests against cross-site request forgery. These cookies are essential to the Service. We do not use them for third-party advertising.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Service, and only as needed:
- Payment provider — to process credit-pack purchases.
- DNS and hosting providers — as needed to verify domain ownership and route your connected domain to the Service.
- Image providers — to source stock or AI-generated images for your sites.
- Infrastructure providers — for hosting, storage, and security.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Webetter in supported assistants
When you use Webetter through a supported ChatGPT or OpenAI assistant connection, the assistant sends us your request and, when you connect your account, an access token that identifies you. We process the website URL you ask us to audit, the business description and edit instructions you provide, your Webetter account identifier, and technical data such as timestamps, tool name and IP address for rate limiting.
We use this data only to perform the action you requested, charge and refund credits, prevent abuse and keep service logs. Request logs are kept for 90 days; generated sites remain for as long as your account exists; GEO audit page content and results are not retained after the response, while pseudonymous rate-limit counters expire automatically. You can disconnect the connector in your assistant settings, delete sites or your account in Webetter settings, or contact us for access or deletion requests. We do not sell personal data: [email protected].
6. Data retention
We retain your account data, sites, and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain records as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes after account closure.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords, access controls, and encrypted transport. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
Under the PDPO, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you and correction of inaccurate personal data, subject to the provisions and exemptions of the Ordinance. Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update your profile from the account page, or contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
